Do You Remember The Times?
The SocialFi space had a few stellar performers in the previous cycle. However, as with any bear market, much of these gains have been erased. As the current cycle continues to unfold we have seen alternative narratives such as AI and DePIN stealing the hearts of passionate investors. These are the darlings of 2024. At least until now! Investors are now beginning to focus on RWA, which I have always said would experience an explosive ending during the final stages of the current bull market.
Even though it’s not the beginning, it’s definitely not the end. The premature interest in the RWA sector is largely thanks to BlackRock and its BUIDL portfolio. Ondo Finance’s rise is predominately due to BlackRock. This trickle effect has led to other RWA projects gaining traction over the past few months. However, the recent market correction has even managed to punish successful projects within the RWA sector.
In the meantime, SocialFi has been quietly evolving in the shadows. New WEB3 projects such as Bulb have arrived on the Solana blockchain and offer traditional long-form content and microblogging. INLEO experienced a rebranding together with the launching of Threads on their Hive layer 2 application. Tangled, another microblogging platform has also entered the space.
Torum, on the other hand, appears to be experiencing some resistance to their proposed Torum 2.0. I hope for a compromise that pleases the users and the Torum team. In the world of Crypto, and especially WEB3, community approval and endorsement is imperative. It’s not an option. Just look at Steemit and the hard fork that is now the Hive blockchain. Community is everything, especially in SocialFi.
The Primary Attraction Of SocialFi
SocialFi tokens experience a significant amount of selling pressure. However, a bullish case remains for this particular Crypto niche. An investment in any other Crypto sector will require investable capital. However, the SocialFi space creates an opportunity for almost anyone to begin earning Crypto tokens that can be held over the long term, or swapped for alternative Crypto assets.
Thanks to microblogging, zero writing skills are required. Interested parties can focus on short-form content and ignore the aspect of blogging if they choose. Anyone with an X or Facebook account can begin posting short blasts of content, similar to their legacy accounts. The only difference is, with SocialFi, your content generates income for you! Torum
Many of these native tokens stand the chance of significant appreciation due to their insignificant market caps. Currently, Torum has the largest market cap. However, Hive as an ecosystem is significantly higher than all combined. Playing the “SocialFi Game” accurately can be extremely viable. It’s a process of sowing and reaping. Remember, WEB3 is all about inclusivity and not exclusivity.
So, if you are active on Bulb get active on INLEO and vice versa. Tokenized WEB3 models hold tremendous potential. However, they need to be utilized for that potential to be realized. I am more of a blogger than a short-form creator. However, I have decided to challenge myself and become more active, regarding threading. Opportunities like this need to be taken hold of with both hands.

Final Thoughts
SocialFi is currently one of the most predominant WEB3 expressions. Choosing to ignore this sector could be a regrettable mistake. The volatility of this particular market also provides great trading opportunities. Hivers often leverage this dynamic by trading their HIVE tokens for HBD and vice versa.
