Technology - The hope it brings

It is no secret that technology has totally revolutionized the world. These days, we see more and more creative ways of making money thanks to this invention of a lifetime. A lot more fields opening up to the transformation of technology. Big name companies now where they are because they had the keen eye to see what a lifetime opportunity it is. In all of this, the ordinary man is not exempt either. Countries reformed by the power of something as common as the light bulb. What I would like to focus on is how much the power of technology carries hope. Science is life. I think we all know that. However, technology is hope. That is how I see it. Thanks to technology, an ordinary girl like me can dream of taking over the world and more, I actually have the platform to make that happen.

I am a young twenty something residing in one of the most popular countries in Africa, Nigeria (the Giant of Africa). Our economy, albeit dwindling and abused, we still hold on. Nigeria is very popular for its crime rates but what most people do not know or talk about is the fact that Nigeria houses the most geniuses after the Jews (dare I say so). I grew up here, a land flowing with milk and honey and so many ignorant people who say they are leaders (old news). One thing I never knew as a child was how much I would have to struggle to find a place in my own country. Still, I digress…

The reason I look at technology as hope is how much it offers the way out to silly little ones like me. Every day, youths over here face challenges that pushes us to make bad decisions. We decide to take the money illegally. For those of us who still hang on to the red thread that is hope, we try everything we get our hands on and may lose so much money in the process. I have lost hundreds of thousands (hundreds of dollars) trying to find what really works for me. I have settled on multiple part time jobs and other jobs that paid me almost nothing compared to the energy I have put in. It is very hard to get a good paying job with a degree here and even harder without one unless you have a connection. One of my jobs was ghostwriting. I was part of some teams that helped make some popular Web novels. It was an exhilarating experience even if I got little sleep.

Soon, I come across a block chain and I am earning more than I did with my previous bosses in a week. The possibilities became endless and I was officially obsessed. Little by little, day by day, I built and solidified my stay among talented writers. Three years later, I use my earnings to start my own business and move into a better neighborhood. I made friends and comrades who became a permanent fixture in my life. This is not something you see every day. All this is thanks to crypto and crypto is thanks to the birth of technology. I still have no idea how crypto works and this makes me even more interested because it holds that mystery that is just enough to keep you going. That challenge is so sophisticated that is blows your mind every time you figure something out.
I have met many Nigerians like me who have turned their lives around thanks to Cryptocurrency, one of the legitimate ways to make money in a land so little with opportunities. I have seen the beauty of technology as it lifts people and places them where 9 to 5’s cannot. Of course, technology has many fields and many ways to get creative. I am happy and proud when I see my mates taking advantage of these things.

I am not at all different from my peers. I just have experiences and knowledge that sets me apart as I am sure it does for every Nigerian Youth who really wants to succeed. Now that I am on here, I will still live by my core principles since encountering any block chain:

  1. Quality
  2. Interaction
  3. Consistency and
  4. Patience.

I try not to brag about my content but I know it is good. I have taken five years to master my craft and I still learn daily. I will make mistakes as I am not perfect, which is the essence of a community. We all thrive better when we do it together. Shout out to @tengocoins, my very good friend and awesome partner in almost everything.
