After a delay, the popular Tap-to-Earn project Hamster Kombat has officially announced the TGE and HMSTR token airdrop for the community on September 26, 2024.

After a delay, Hamster Kombat, a game on Telegram based on the Tap-to-Earn mechanism, has officially announced the HMSTR token launch and airdrop event for users next month.

Specifically, according to a post on the X channel (old Twitter) with more than 12.6 million followers, the Hamster Kombat team announced that the TGE and airdrop event will officially take place on September 26, 2024.

Although the token allocation ratio has not been announced, according to previous information, the Hamster Kombat development team announced in the whitepaper that it will dedicate 60% of the total supply to airdrop to players, affirming that "this will be the largest airdrop event in the history of cryptocurrencies".

Hamster Kombat is one of the most prominent Web3 games on Telegram, rising to fame thanks to its extremely idle profit-making mechanism through a simple Tap-to-Earn mechanism. Hamster Kombat has attracted more than 300 million players since its launch in the summer of 2024, and data from Telegram shows that more than 80 million players were active in the most recent month.

Players just need to continuously tap the mouse in the application and perform the required tasks to receive in-game token points as a redemption criterion or receive HMSTR tokens when the airdrop event takes place later - similar to games such as PixelTap, OKX Racer, HashKey's DJDOG or Binance Launchpool's 54th Notcoin (NOT).

What's special about Hamster Kombat is that it does not receive any funding from investment funds to maintain an authentic game, respect the efforts of gamers, and only reward those who actually play the game.

Initially, the HMSTR token was planned for a TGE in July but was delayed due to the need for more time to prepare for the airdrop event of up to 60% of the supply to players. Not only that, the project has also encountered unexpected troubles in the past by the Iranian government and its 300 million player community:

Iranian officials believe that this is a "soft power" tool of the West to distract the people from the country's presidential election in June 2024.

The player community expressed outrage and disappointment when information about tokenomics was leaked by an unverified source, in which it was announced that Hamster Kombat only allocated 1% of the total supply of 10 billion HMSTR to airdrop to users. With 300 million participants, 100 million tokens divided equally, each user only received about 0.4 HMSTR.

The Hamster Kombat airdrop announcement came just hours after The Open Network (TON) went down for hours, stemming from the launch of the memecoin DOGS, which was putting a lot of pressure on the network and slowing down transaction speeds.

In the pre-market, the HMSTR token is currently priced around $0.16 - $0.19 at the time of writing.
