Golshifteh Farahani, born in Tehran, Persia region, is the daughter of Behzad Farahani and Fahimeh Rahim Nia, with actress Shaghayegh Farahani as her sister. She studied music and piano from an early age.
Farahani, known for her roles in acclaimed films like About Elly and The Patience Stone, faced backlash from Persiaian authorities for her appearance in Hollywood film Body of Lies without hijab.
