Abstract Chain Officially Mainnet, PENGU Recovers Strongly
The layer-2 of the famous NFT collection Pudgy Penguins has now entered the mainnet phase.
Abstract Chain, an Ethereum layer-2 built on ZKsync's ZK Stack toolkit, has officially launched on mainnet after more than half a year of development.
Along with the mainnet announcement, Abstract also launched The Portal. Here, users can create a wallet instantly with just an email address and directly access Abstract's dApp ecosystem. The network is currently home to more than 100 applications.
Abstract Chain was developed by Igloo Inc., the parent company of the famous NFT collection Pudgy Penguins, which launched its token in mid-December. In preparation for layer-2 Abstract, Igloo has successfully raised $11 million from major investors such as Founders Fund. Abstract's predecessor was Frame.xyz, but was later acquired by Igloo Inc. repurchased from mid-2024.
Abstract Chain stands out with its native account abstraction feature, allowing the wallet to function as a smart contract, providing outstanding utilities such as:
· Easy login with email or social network.
· Simple account recovery mechanism.
· Support passkey, improving security and user experience.
Before the Abstract mainnet news, the token of the Pudgy Penguins NFT set, PENGU, recovered strongly from January 23 and continued to rise to $0.027 early this morning, before being crushed by Bitcoin's "Lunar New Year" crash.
The growth momentum was fueled by rumors that PENGU holders would be eligible to receive airdrops of this layer-2 network's tokens during the token release event. However, the above information has not been officially confirmed, and Abstract has not announced a launch date yet.
