I've been sleep deprived for about 3 days now. It's not that I can't sleep but it is because of the nature of my work that keeps me up. I know it's bad for my mental health and physical wellbeing but I need to keep this job if I have to pay the bills. That's part of being an adult I'm afraid. So this morning, I went to see a friend who lives hundreds of kilometers away in the outskirts of town. He has been terribly sick and I felt bad that I didn't check up on him that much because I'm always busy with work. I stopped at the grocery store to get him some provisions and a get well soon card. I spent some time with him and was exhausted. I knew I needed to get home as soon as possible to sleep. Driving back was a hell of a ride as I was struggling to stay on my lane. I must have slept off when I hit the curb by the side of the road. After hitting the brakes, I came down to inspect the damages. All I can say now is that I've learnt my lesson.
"Whenever you're feeling sleepy on the wheel, it's okay to park and sleep before continuing your journey"
My mistake costed me hundreds of dollars in repairs.

Stay safe and drive responsibly
