Clever Fox

There once was a fox so clever and sly,

He thought he could outsmart the whole wide sky.

He stole from the farmer and swiped from the hen,

But little did he know, his luck was about to end.

He thought he was smart,

with his cunning and wit, But his actions caught up, and he found himself in a fix.

The farmer set traps, and the fox got caught,

He should have been more careful, that's what he ought.

He yelped and he cried,

and he begged to be free, But the farmer just laughed and said "not for thee."

He was locked in a cage, with nothing to do,

But think about all the things he shouldn't pursue.

He learned his lesson,

and when he was released, He vowed to be good, and to steal no more peace.

He found other ways, to get by in the wood,

And lived happily ever after, as all good stories should.

So, if you're a fox,

and you're feeling sly, Remember that trouble is never far, just nearby.

Be clever, be smart, but don't break the law, Or you might find yourself,

in a tight squeeze like before.
