Data integrity is data's accuracy, completeness, consistency, and trustworthiness throughout the lifecycle. Data integrity can be compromised when data is replicated, transferred, or manipulated in any way. Data can also be compromised due to human errors, viruses, or system failures. 
Achieving and maintaining data integrity can save your organization time, effort, and money that would otherwise be spent on making a major decision based on incorrect or incomplete data. After all, data-driven decisions are only as good as the data on which they are based. If the integrity of your company's data is compromised in any way, the consequences could be long-term and far-reaching.
