About Aftermath Finance

Bitcoin was born in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. Decentralized Finance (DeFi) was born out of the aftermath of the ICO craze, the predatory first application of Ethereum’s promise of “programmable money.” The first generation of DeFI protocols were propped up by unsustainable tokenomics models, incentivizing their users to farm and dump tokens. Others relied upon highly unstable architecture (Olympus, Terra et al) which enriched early participants then ultimately blew up.
Other crypto speculators never even touched DeFi, preferring to simply hold tokens on a centralized exchange, believing this was easier and less risky. FTX, Celsius and others imploding showed us how this too was folly.
In the aftermath of the failures of centralized exchanges and other top protocols in decentralized finance, what is our way forward? What worked well, and what caused the catastrophic losses that threaten the original vision of cryptocurrencies?
Equal access to the flow of value and information between parties, without the need for a middleman is the ethos cryptocurrencies were born from. How do we get back to our roots after so many bad actors have tainted our industry?

Enter Aftermath Finance
Our vision is simple, though it has taken years of research, trading (both winning and getting rekt), and development to build. Aftermath is building a platform for trading, investing, and earning yield that is fast, inexpensive, completely transparent and on-chain, and lets our users custody their own assets. Not your keys, not your crypto.
Seems like a simple idea, why hasn’t anyone done it yet? Simply stated, blockchain technology hasn’t allowed for something like Aftermath to be built until now. Others have tried, but still rely upon off-chain execution or centralized sequencers. This is a step in the right direction, but not a solution.
As a team of experienced DeFi users and rust developers, they chose to build on Sui because it offers the latency, throughput, and scalability required to build a decentralized, fully on-chain exchange. What are they building?

Aftermath is building an all-in-one platform for trading, investing, and earning yield that is fast, inexpensive, and fully transparent. Our focus is to provide an intuitive user experience across all of our markets. They have a multi-year roadmap, and will be continuously rolling out new products as they are completed, tested, and audited.

Pools

Our Constant Function Market Maker (CFMM) allows for the creation of pools of up to 8 assets of arbitrary weights, and supports both the constant mean and stable swap invariant functions. Index pools can be used for portfolio management, spot swaps, and yield farming. Our multi-asset pools combined with the stableswap invariant will offer the lowest slippage trades between assets such as stable coins, ETH, and BTC from the various bridges connected to Sui.

Trade

Our Smart-Order Router finds the optimal trade between any two assets, whether the trade is performed through our pools on Aftermath or any other Sui DEX our router is connected to. Aftermath add every DEX which allows us to and has sufficient liquidity.

Liquid Staking Derivatives

Our LSD - afSUI - is a yield-bearing token which allows SUI tokens to be both staked, thus securing the network, and also liquid for use across Sui's DeFi landscape.

Perpetuals

Utilizing an order book execution layer optimized for the speed and throughput of Sui, our perpetuals market allows traders to leverage trade various assets including crypto, forex, commodities, and GameFi assets. Bots available via our SDK and LP vaults will allow retail to participate in the market making game, and ensure deep liquidity and tight spreads for traders.

NFT and GameFI

Sui is positioned to become the predominant ecosystem for gaming and all that comes with it; namely GameFi assets which people want to trade and speculate on. They believe the markets they create for NFTs and GameFi assets have the potential to outpace our markets for traditional crypto assets, and are excited to see the Sui GameFi landscape take shape in the near future.

Lending

Featuring isolated lending pools, our money market will allow holders of Sui network assets to earn yield, obtain leverage, or short assets. Our lending architecture provides both the liquidity and security required for a nascent ecosystem like Sui, with the modularity to expand to NFT lending and beyond.

Aftermath is committed to the Sui ecosystem long term. They have a multi-year roadmap of products to build, and are constantly dreaming up even more. From vaults that market make on order books, to one-click hedging strategies, cross-chain derivatives arbitrage, to interest rate swaps…there are a plethora of strategies that can be created on top of our foundational products.

Creating a Sui account with zkLogin

zkLogin makes onboarding to Sui incredibly simple
If you are new to the Sui ecosystem and do not yet have a Sui wallet, a new primitive called zkLogin makes it incredibly simple to set up a new account. No longer is it necessary to write down a seed phrase, all you need is an exisiting Web2 account such as Google or Twitch to create a new wallet. This is made possible through the magic of Zero Knowledge Proofs, a technology native to Sui.
To get started, first follow the instructions for installing a wallet in the Interacting with your Wallet page of the documentation. Once you have installed a wallet to your browser, you will be prompted to create an account. You will see that you are able to sign in using your Google or Twitch account. Simply clicking on your preference of credential will instanly create a Sui wallet associated with that account.
