Tell me why

Why do you keep acting as though nothing is wrong?
You act toward me as though today is a typical day.
I don't know who you are or who I am to you, and I'm afraid you'll never understand who I've become.
I have no idea why you occasionally dislike me and why you won't let me live my life as merely your friend.
The likelihood that I will ever be correct is ruled out because, in your eyes, you shift like the sun and moon.
It hurts that you have never cared or listened to how I felt, and when you spew those nasty falsehoods, my heart would begin to melt.

I wish my dad could just come home and fix everything, but since he can't, you should be the one to step up, but you aren't.
I have always loved you, mum, but I can't pretend that your infliction of an agonizing pain on my spirit hasn't left scars.
But despite all that has gone wrong, I have learnt an important lesson: even when you know you are wrong, you won't ever admit it.
In order to show them a love that you have never shown, I now dream of having children of my own.
