German football star, Mesut Ozil has officially retired from the world of football. Ozil retired at the age of 34.
Ozil's retirement announcement was made via his social media account.

"Hello everyone, after careful consideration, I have decided to retire from the world of professional football. I have had the privilege of being a professional football player for almost 17 years and I am grateful for the opportunity." 

Ozil also did not forget to thank all the clubs, coaches and teammates who had fought with him on the gridiron.
What an extraordinary journey filled with unforgettable and emotional moments. I want to thank my clubs, Schalke 04, Werder Bremen, Real Madrid, Arsenal FC, Fenerbahce, Basaksehir.
"And the coaches who also support me, as well as the teammates who have become my friends," said Ozil.

Ozil also thanked his family and supporters for the support he has received so far.


"I would also like to express my special thanks to my family and friends.
