I Quit
It's been 16 days since I submitted my resignation letter. Yes, I quit.
I’m still working my job anyway, but my resignation is due by the end of next week. Just a few more days until I bid my final farewells.
I remember being happy about my position when I got the offer. It was a dream come true, a significant achievement I could check off my bucket list. An opportunity I’ll remain grateful for.
But dreams aren’t always black and white. And so, I'm embarking on a new journey to explore what other possibilities life holds for me.
My colleagues say they will miss me, and I even got a counteroffer from my CEO. All of which only adds to the complexity of my decision.
But, I’ve made sacrifices for my job in previous times, and this time, I choose me.
And although I’m mostly quitting to focus on me, and things that I find more enjoyable, it feels super weird. Quitting anything at all isn’t easy.
I guess it’s just life. Sometimes, it presents us with tough choices to make.
Moving forward, my focus is to evolve into a person I'll be prouder of. I owe myself that much.
I've secured a part-time gig, which I will manage alongside my self-improvement efforts.
I've created a fresh bucket list, and once again, there are numerous unmarked items awaiting completion.
I am content with my decision to quit my current role, and no one should feel guilty for choosing to quit anything at some point in life. Quitting doesn't always signify giving up; at times, it's about allocating time to concentrate on what truly holds significance.
