There is always room for new blockchains.

Paul Graham (Co-founder of YC) famously ask this back in 2006:
"Do you think in a hundred years the only social media will be Facebook and MySpace? Not likely."

And he was right. Almost 20 years later, we've got Facebook, Instagram, X and countless more.

It is also the same for blockchains. Back in 2020, who would have thought Solana would become the go-to blockchain for DEFI and even outcompete all other blockchains in acquiring new developers?
