Daniella Pineda was born on February 20, 1987, in Oakland, California, to parents Eric Klein and Patricia Pineda. Growing up, she shared her childhood with two siblings, Anneliese and Elliot. As a third-generation Mexican American, Pineda has deep roots in her cultural heritage.
She pursued her higher education at Mills College, where she earned a degree in sociology and radio journalism. During her time at Mills College, Pineda demonstrated a commitment to addressing social issues, including racism and poverty, through her work and studies. She further honed her skills and knowledge by acquiring a fellowship at KALW, a public radio station in San Francisco, where she engaged in discussions surrounding pertinent societal topics.

Daniella Pineda's journey in the entertainment industry began with her first acting role in a 2010 episode of Men of a Certain Age. However, she initially gained recognition through her online presence, creating a substantial image through CollegeHumor comedy sketch videos and fashion tutorials on YouTube.


In 2011, Pineda made her film debut in the comedy drama Newlyweds, directed by Edward Burns, which garnered positive reviews from critics. She then ventured into television, appearing in an episode of The CW's The Vampire Diaries, which served as a backdoor pilot for the spin-off series The Originals. Despite her character's demise in the episode "Crescent City," Pineda expressed interest in returning to the show in 2021.
