Does what we see and hear actually tell on our way of thinkingπ€·?
I agree totally that what we see and hear eventually tells on our way of thinkingπ.
Remember when you were younger and you heard and saw an elder using an offensive word on somebody? Eventually when you find yourself in that elder's situation, you may and most likely will use that word on the person you're disagreeing with.
You can relate rightπ?
Well what brought this to my mind was a podcast I listened to earlier today; "Feed your mind with the right things". The anchor made a striking statement... he said "our eyes and our ears are gateways to our souls".
Though you may not be a person who believes in souls, but you do not disagree with the example I cited above, that's literally what I mean when I say "gateway to our souls". It could also be regarded as the subconscious mind.
To explain further, if you surround yourself with toxic people such as liars, scoffers, haughty people, etc; you'd eventually find yourself doing the things they do.
Needless to say the number of our teenagers and youths addicted to pornography.
This all started when these people were exposed to this junk media, when they began to see, hear, and even read.
We can solve this menace if we learn to walk away.
Walk away from that circle, from that movie, from that book, just walk away because we eventually become what we constantly feed ourselves with and as you've seen, this doesn't only refer to food and drinks.
The world will be a much better place if we watch what we feed ourselves with. We can't keep destroying ourselves because we will one day need each other in our right senses!
I'm rooting for youβ€οΈ!
Ciaoπ!
