Themes for 2024

In 2024, I think the most important themes will be modular architecture, more specifically roll-ups, data availability, security and blockchain + AI concepts. Blogs and articles on artificial intelligence | The AI dream In the past years, the biggest problems on the user side have been "transaction fees" and "security". While end users face high fees, they lose their money for different reasons while interacting with the chain; scam tokens, theft of private keys, phishing attacks, hacking of projects. In recent years, steps have been taken to solve these problems with roll-ups and account abstraction, but the whole ecosystem agrees that we need to keep building on this. Modular architecture, especially roll-ups and the DA layer, are concepts we will hear a lot about next year. Celestia (TIA) was the first project to launch on this theme. In addition, with Ethereum's Dencun update, we will see the first steps in DA.
Eigen Layer is another project that we should keep a close eye on. Eigen Layer aims to offer crypto-economic security to other projects through re-staking. Also, Eigen DA will be the first service on Eigen Layer that aims to provide DA service (data accessibility) to roll-ups. What I find interesting about Celestia is that it is connected to Ethereum and Cosmos in many ecosystems. The embracing approach of the community is also important as a network effect. Looking at the numbers, Celestia promises a bright future.
Of course, I must remind you that we are still at the beginning of the road and we need time for analysis. Another interesting story will be the intersection of blockchain and artificial intelligence. In addition to the computational power requirement and centralization platform on the AI side, the ability to use the data generated by AI on the chain will be an important use case. Reading Akash Network, Fetch.ai and Ocean Protocol projects can take us one step ahead. As a bonus, I leave this article and the zkML topic :) I think projects in security and computational abstraction will be much more valuable in the future. Data Availability

In 2024, I think data availability layers will become even more valuable and important. With the upcoming Ethereum EIP-4844 update, roll-ups and second layer projects will become cheaper and we will start to see non-financial applications on the blockchain. The main project that I think can rival Celestia for this is Avail. Both the team (a founding team of former Polygon founders and team leaders) and the technology look promising. zkSync is another project I'm waiting for. I think zkSync will be a big hit, especially when they move the big players in the web2 world to the ZK Stack infrastructure.
