How to recover from burnout
Try learning a new skill
While it may appear that learning something new is just another thing to add to your to-do list, it may help alleviate burnout. "Learning a new skill can help you overcome the feeling that nothing will change, which could give you the boost you need to recover and rediscover your happiness."
Better yet, resurrect a long-forgotten hobby, such as painting or singing, and make it a priority. Classes at your local community college can also be an inexpensive way to stimulate your intellectual creativity.
Consider a change
If you continue to feel job burnout or are working in a toxic work environment, it may be time to look for a new job. You can begin slowly by working on your resume and looking for jobs casually, and then gradually begin hyping yourself up to prepare for change.
Prioritize yourself over work
If you thrive personally when you have time for morning coffee with your partner or a weekday sports league, make those appointments on your calendar and treat them as seriously as a work meeting.
