Celestia Light Node Perform Analysis
You can find the Turkish resource I wrote about Celestia here. The results are in and I was selected as a light node provider.I am happy to be among the 1000 testers in Celestia. I am running Light Node in Celestia, which I have been following since its early stages. Today I will give a brief information about light node and the hardware I am running with a few metrics. If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them. At the end of the article, I will give my social media addresses where you can reach me.
This is a brief mention in official sources.
Phase 1 is over and I am writing a performance analysis for Phase 2. If I take part in later Phases, I will write in addition to this article.
I’m using Hetzner’s server labeled CPX 11.Why ?Hetzner has always made me happy in terms of uptime and hardware quality. It is one step ahead for me with alternative location options and fast installation.
As you can see in the table, the server specifications are as follows
Memory: 2 GB RAM
CPU: 2 AMD VCPU
Disk 40 GB SSD Storage
Traffic: 20 TBYou can see the information about the server in summary form on the infographic below. I tried to use as many useful metrics as I could.
My node Tiascan page.
Commands and installations I used
To see disk usage
df -h
df -h output
To see the operating system
cat /etc/os-release
cat /etc/os-release output
To see the system monitor
sudo apt-get install htop htop
htop output
Conclusion
In addition to the minimum system requirements to run Light node, I recommend only increasing the disk space. I think that 65 percent CPU usage is short-term during the update, otherwise 1CPU will be enough. Since it is VCPU, servers will tolerate short-term overlimits.
However, this is only a recommendation, I am not responsible for any damage that may occur.I recommend especially light node users to set aside a small amount of balance and reduce the requirements to at least CPX11.
