You must have heard of Coinmarketcap and CoinGecko. Most of us don't know the hidden gems under the mat of CMC. Following are some tools that will make your crypto research set up more effective.
In this article I will cover Dune analytics, TradingView, Coinmarketcap, Scopechat (AI for crypto) & Cryptopanic.
Let me start with the most basic tool - Coinmarketcap. Most of us see this as a way to track prices but lets explore CMC in a more detailed way.

Coinmarketcap: On CMC you can create your own watchlist of tokens that you want to have a quick look. You can also easily browse coins by categories like DeFi, NFTs, stablecoins, and more to focus your research. Similar to DeBank you can also add your wallet addresses and coin holdings in your portfolio tracker on CMC. This totals to become your one stop destination for all things crypto. Now, lets move on to some serious crypto research stuff.

Dune Analytics: Still randomly following some dude on CT (Crypto Twitter) Well, you know what the say Data is Oil. In that case, Dune is a fuel station. Let's understand how you can use Dune for crypto research. Following are some queries you can use to power up your strategy

  • Track unique wallet addresses interacting with a protocol. With this you will be able to comprehend DAU - Daily Active Users on a protocol.
  • Query for transaction fee heatmap. This will show the busiest days/hours for transactions.
  • Moves on the chain: check for major liquidations and for borrowing and lending activity on chains like Ethereum.
  • Most Traded Pairs: While even CMC shows this, checking most traded pairs on chain in real time using Dune can give you an edge in getting early in coins.

TradingView: Now most of us have tried the tool but might find it overwhelming. Indicators and of course don't get me started on how the tool does not allow for you to use more than two indicators at one time. So I have a hack for it. Also I will show a simple two indicator strategy that you can test.
Suppose you want to check more than 2 indicators on TradingView but you don't have a premium subscription. Create 2 -3 email ids and open an account on TradingView using the emails you just created.
Next, set your indicators on any chart on multiple accounts and simply minimise them. (NOTE:Switch to a pro version of it when you are fully sure of truly diving in crypto trading or stock trading)

Now comes the indicator strategy on TradingView. Suppose you want to track buy and sell signals. Simply head to the indicator section and enable Supertrend and Moving Averages. Using this set will help you track buy and sell signals. Please Note: This strategy works only on limited cryptocurrencies. (Blue chips)

Scopechat (AI): This platform can power up your crypto sniffing sense. This platform brings so many possibilities. You can ask it for crypto reports, token details and you can even sync your crypto wallets for more optimised portfolio recommendations. This is not even the best part, On Scopechat you can get all the hot narratives in crypto. Check this out

CryptoPanic: If you are still looking for crypto news on multiple publications chances are you might miss important crypto news. Check Cryptopanic for aggregated news on crypto and web3. You can set up your filters and have it customized as per your goals.
