UK Witnesses Massive Surge in ‘Buy Bitcoin’ Google Searches

In the wake of a significant surge in Bitcoin’s price, Google search queries related to buying Bitcoin have witnessed a remarkable worldwide spike.

Over the past week, UK-based Google searches for “buy Bitcoin” soared by an astonishing 826%, according to research by Cryptogambling.tv.

A spokesperson from Cryptogambling.tv commented on the substantial surge in ‘buy Bitcoin’ searches in the UK, stating that it underscores the growing interest and potential influence of traditional financial institutions in the realm of digital assets.

While UK users led the charge, there was also a noticeable uptick in global web searches related to purchasing Bitcoin.

In the United States, searches for “should I buy Bitcoin now?” surged by more than 250%. Additionally, more specialized searches like “can I buy Bitcoin on Fidelity?” increased by over 3,100% in the past week. Zooming out on a global scale, the search term “Is it a good time to buy Bitcoin?” recorded a 110% increase in searches over the last week.

This sudden surge in interest coincides with a substantial rise in Bitcoin’s price over the past two weeks. On October 24, Bitcoin briefly crossed the $35,000 mark for the first time since May 2022.
