Good morning/evening.

I would like to tell you about Wingbits, another very early DePIN project I am in. We did start off with Defli and were then able to dual mine Wingbits, as we are no longer able to dual mine we chose Wingbits. As we had all the equipment the cost was minimal. This is the very early Beta stage.

Again this project is about aircraft and data ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) including velocity, altitude and the aircraft's position in the hope of creating a flight tracking ecosystem built in a decentralized way but also using the DePIN narrative and model to achieve growth of the network.

This is a screenshot of my wingbits dashboard, I can click on the airplane for more details!

As it is about data Wingbits has a target of potential customers

  • Aviation companies: Airlines, charter companies, and other aviation-related businesses could use ADS-B data to improve their operations and provide more accurate and up-to-date information to their customers.
  • Air traffic control organizations: National and regional air traffic control organizations could use ADS-B data to better manage traffic flow and improve safety in their airspace.
  • Emergency services: Police, fire, and other emergency services could use ADS-B data to quickly locate aircraft in distress and provide assistance in emergency situations.
  • Aviation enthusiasts: Aviation enthusiasts, such as plane spotters and hobbyists, could use ADS-B data to track aircraft and monitor flight patterns.
  • Researchers and academics: Researchers and academics studying air traffic patterns, weather, and other aviation-related topics could use ADS-B data to conduct research and gather insights.

The cost I did have was to buy a 'sky hex' which was only $20 so although not necessary when reaching mainet will earn me greater rewards and other benefits.
The aim of the 'sky hex' is to not oversaturate one area and reduce getting duplicated data.

Also if you are interested in the project but do not want to buy a SkyHex there is a supporter only version or you can be part of the core community dedicated to monitoring specific sky sections. You will then receive significantly higher rewards but must meet stricter criteria for data quality, uptime, and coverage which will also be reflected in the token rewards system.

On the plus side Wingbits has received some funding from Antler https://www.antler.co/
They have a team of real people and have even had an AMA. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebGY9V3AZIk
Twiter/X has some good activity.
Discord is currently friendly and helpful!
Support was quick and helpful without making me feel bad for a lack of coding knowledge!

Wingbits is being built on the peaq blockchain. https://www.peaq.network/ which describes itself as a blockchain for real world applications.

All in all I like this project but it is REALLY early, I am sure I don't need to say DYOR!

As always, thank you for reading and please feel free to comment.
