In a recent move, Bitmain, the leading manufacturer of Bitcoin (BTC) mining ASICs, has taken the decision to terminate the employment of those responsible for the unauthorized disclosure of the company’s salary data.

This decision comes in the wake of revelations on October 8th, which originated from the Maimai Community, a professional social platform. According to the reports, employees had voiced concerns over Bitmain’s salary disbursements, citing issues with cash flow. Furthermore, they expressed dissatisfaction regarding the non-payment of the 2022 bonuses.

The situation took a more concerning turn as it was disclosed that the company had the authority to withhold half of the base salary for all employees, with full withholding of performance-based wages.

Unsurprisingly, the leaking of the employee salary data into the public domain did not sit well with Bitmain’s management. According to reports from BlockBeats, Bitmain has asserted its right to pursue legal action against all individuals involved in this breach of confidentiality.

Bitmain has consistently reminded its workforce not to disseminate company information without proper authorization. Previously, prominent crypto analyst Colin Wu had reported that Bitmain had suspended salary payments partially due to financial difficulties. This suspension was officially communicated to all company employees on October 3rd.

Bitmain’s management emphasized that operating cash flow remained in the negative during the month of September. This had repercussions on the availability of funds, potentially affecting the company’s ability to meet its commitments to business partners, creditors, and employees.

The termination of employees serves as a clear message regarding the seriousness of breaching data privacy and confidentiality within the organization, underlining the importance of adhering to company policies and regulations.
