Bitcoin to Reach $170,000 Next Year, Predicts Famous Investor
"Wherever the price is on the day of the halving in April, multiply it by four, and it will reach that price within the next 18 months," calculates businessman Anthony Scaramucci.
Founder and managing partner of the hedge fund SkyBridge, Anthony Scaramucci, predicts that the price of Bitcoin could surpass $170,000 by 2025. In an interview with Reuters on Monday (15th), Scaramucci highlighted that the growing demand for newly listed spot Bitcoin ETFs and the halving event in April will be the main drivers of this appreciation.
"If Bitcoin is at $45,000 at the halving, where it is approximately now, it will reach $170,000 by mid- or end-of-2025," said the businessman during the Reuters Global Markets Forum, which occurs alongside the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
In fact, Scaramucci developed a calculation for his prediction: "Wherever the price is on the day of the halving in April, multiply it by four, and it will reach that price within the next 18 months."
Halving is the event that occurs every four years in the Bitcoin blockchain, where the reward for miners for each validated block is halved. Currently, validators receive 6.25 BTC per block, and this rate will fall to 3.125 BTC after the April event.
The price of bitcoin recently surpassed $49,000, driven by the approval of spot bitcoin ETFs for trading on US exchanges. However, it has since receded to about $42,000.
Scaramucci attributes this drop to the movement of investors exiting the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust for the new funds and estimates that it will take another eight to ten trading days to see the impact of the newly listed funds on prices.
