🛑 Montenegro Court Overturns Do Kwon Extradition Approval 🛑
In a surprising twist, the Appellate Court in Montenegro has decided to revoke the Montenegro high court’s Nov. 17 decision to extradite Terra founder Do Kwon to either the U.S. or South Korea. The Appellate Court pointed out flaws in the legal process, specifically the court stated that the investigating judge did not follow the law when he handled the U.S. extradition request. The investigating judge reportedly did not summon the defendant, Kwon, to hear his defence against the U.S. extradition request – something that is mandatory by law. The case has now been sent back to the original court for a new trial.

🤝 FTX’s Bahamas Branch Strikes Deal With U.S. Bankruptcy Team, Simplifying Future Actions 🤝
Debtors affiliated with crypto exchange FTX have reportedly reached a global settlement agreement with the Bahamian branch FTX Digital Markets which was undergoing a separate liquidation process. The debtors called the ‘global settlement agreement’ a “novel and mutually advantageous solution to the complicated cross-border legal issues caused by the situation of the collapse of the FTX group.”
Once the agreement is approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and the Supreme Court of the Bahamas Court, FTX debtors and FTX Digital Markets will “combine assets and coordinate the creation of reserves and the timing and amount of distributions” to make distributions to FTX.com customers, who will have to choose which entity they file their claim against.

Ripple, the company behind the XRP cryptocurrency and the RippleNet payment network, has received approval from the Central Bank of Ireland to operate as a Digital Asset Service Operator (DASO) in the country. This means that Ripple can provide crypto-related services, such as custody, exchange and transfer, to customers in Ireland and other European countries that are part of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA).
