You use, you pay kinda thing

We’ve seen some major hits to our economy through the ages, but 2022 hit us like a train. Despite the war in Ukraine, the highest unemployment rates in history, and the most encompassing pandemic ever, the Creator Economy has been redundant to despair its trait.

Authors, creators, bloggers, property holders, and investors want one thing and one thing only = the ability to sell and earn on the go.

What is happening?

Turns out people like control. There has never been a time in history better suited for people to seize it. Up to now, we have had large media companies taking control, interrupting the pure connection between the creator and their audience.

Not only do we move towards individual creators of intellectual property, but we are also getting rid of all intermediaries. We are connecting the artist, and the creator directly to its users usually through platforms that have a well thought-over business model.

You have become the creator of your own content. The driver behind the wheel. The dreamer behind the dream.

You can even inspect the platform I’m writing this on. Medium has taken a huge step towards the Pay2Go structure. It still allocates 50% of the earnings to the platform and you have to comply with the regulations and all, yet you are inconvertibly paid according to how many readers you attract. That is the profound ground for the creator economy. Forget about big firms and lousy agreements, high royalties, and marketing fees. You get what you earn and the user pays for what he utilizes.

Play-To-Earn = Full NFT style

The gaming culture has been taken by a storm by the NFT paradigm. It offers the ability to store, exchange and develop your digital avatars or their collectibles. And if we go a step further, it implies the best implementation of the mid-game staking rewards — which serve as a community incentive to keep playing.

Axle Infinity has taken this idea to the fullest — implementing the DAO(Decentralized Autonomous Organization) empowering the holders in organizational manners, such as voting and decision making.

The Micropayment Economy

Put simply, micropayments are these teeny tiny amounts of cryptocurrencies and a form of financial transaction among parties. They will turn out to be an essential part of the creator economy paradigm. Here’s what you can do with them.

  • support the developing countries via small payments that come with management tools
  • micropayments serve as the under-the-hood payment structure for the creator economy
  • streaming services utilize micropayments as a form of payment for the licensing rights or the platform utilities. This has proved to be especially important in the music and influencer culture as blockchain puts creators and users side by side in a transparent network.

The Evolution of Bitcoin Lightning Network

We’re talking about the layer-2 infrastructure on the Bitcoin blockchain that bypasses the original blockchain using a bidirectional payment channel between the two parties(nodes).

Truly a lightning network, it improves the transaction speed from 10-minutes per block hashing up to merely 1 second.

Why is this important?

This method suggests you can make any off-blockchain transaction between any-two nodes in the network in 1 second. The Creator Economist is satisfied.

Conclusion
