College Trip: New Experience
This was my college trip. First of all, let me tell you that this trip isn't a new one. When I was in 11th grade, my college decided to organize a trip. The college administration asked all the students to recommend a place for the trip. So, we all gathered and decided on one place: Kashmir (the most beautiful city of Pakistan). We were ecstatic that day because it was the first trip my parents allowed me to go on.
The college administration decided that we would leave for the trip early in the morning. I was so excited about the trip that I got ready two hours before the scheduled time. I began traveling toward the college early in the morning. The college wasn't far from my home. Upon reaching the college, I saw my friends were already there, hehe, and they were even more excited than me. After that, our professors asked us to wait because the cars and coaches hadn't arrived yet. So, we started chatting with friends and planning what we could do once we reached our destination. However, little did we know that this trip was going to turn out to be the worst for us.
The buses finally arrived, guess what, after 4 hours of waiting. We had to start our journey at 3 am, but we ended up traveling at 7 or 8 am. Despite being tired, we were still excited. On the way, we enjoyed our ride with loud music, dancing on the bus, etc. We stopped for breakfast at our first location, which was Islamabad (the Capital city of Pakistan). After one and a half hours, we resumed our journey, and this time our stop was our final destination, Kashmir. We reached our final destination after 10 hours.
Our college administration introduced us to our hotel and assigned us rooms. Each room accommodated 6 to 7 students since the rooms were spacious and the number of students was considerable. They advised us to rest as we were exhausted from the long journey. They suggested a two-hour break followed by lunch, after which we would proceed to our next destination for enjoyment.
Roads were blocked
Oh! Sorry, I forgot to mention that this was a two-day trip, so we had to manage our time and destinations equally. After resting and having lunch, we were ready to start our journey. However, at the last minute, someone informed the administration that our chosen destination was inaccessible due to blocked roads caused by traffic. Consequently, we had to cancel our plan, and our professors instructed us to go back to our rooms and rest, assuring us that we would resume our journey the next day. Though many students were disappointed, a majority agreed as they were exhausted and felt it was better to rest that day.
So, we slept peacefully that night. The place where our hotel was located was incredibly beautiful, with a flowing river, towering mountains, and lush greenery all around. The next day, we woke up early once again as we had to depart early. After having breakfast, we set out on our journey. Our destination, the Kashmir border, was four hours away from our hotel. On the other side of the border lay India, which made us excited to see Indian people for the first time in real life.
After four hours of travel, upon reaching our destination, we were informed that the border was closed for unspecified reasons, and we were asked to leave the area within half an hour. Upon hearing this, all the boys started shouting at the professors, questioning why they hadn't checked the status of the location beforehand. Everyone was angry because we were tired and had not enjoyed anything. The professors instructed us to return to the hotel, effectively wasting another four hours of our day. It meant that we had wasted the entire day without accomplishing anything meaningful or finding a perfect location to explore.
The next day was our last, and all the boys were still upset and angry with our professors for the mismanagement of our trip, which had turned out to be a disappointment. However, on that day, they took us to the top of a mountain in the city called Peer Chanasi. The place was incredibly beautiful, with mountains covered in ancient ice. We spent the entire day there and finally enjoyed ourselves to the fullest.
In the evening, we began our journey back home, and the next morning, we arrived home early.
Ending thoughts
So, that was my worst experience on the trip. I've decided that next time, I'll either go on a trip alone or with my friends only because I'm good at managing these things.
