Background

Illuvium’s team believes that decentralization and true ownership are essential for the future of gaming, which inspired them to create their platform.

Founded in September 2020, Illuvium aims to build a fully decentralized gaming experience, combining elements of an open-world RPG with an auto-battler. Players can encounter and capture creatures called Illuvials, and successful captures result in the creation of new NFT assets. These NFTs, representing the Illuvials, are stored in players' wallets and can be used in battles or traded. By incorporating these features, Illuvium appeals to both casual gamers and DeFi enthusiasts, while utilizing the Layer-2 solution Immutable X to ensure zero gas fees.
In March 2021, Illuvium made headlines during its Balancer public sale, raising over $90 million in trades within three days. One million tokens were sold, starting at $50 each. The funds are being used to expand the team and accelerate development, with the open beta expected to launch in late Q3 or Q4 of 2021. Illuvium is on track to become the first AAA gaming title in the crypto space.
