Alice Sophia Eve, born on February 6, 1982, is a British-American actress with a strong lineage in the entertainment industry as the daughter of actors Trevor Eve and Sharon Maughan. She embarked on her acting career with supporting roles in notable films such as Hawking and Stage Beauty, both released in 2004.


Throughout her career, Eve has displayed her versatility in various genres, including comedy, drama, and science fiction. Some of her prominent film credits include Starter for 10 (2006), She's Out of My League (2010), Men in Black 3 (2012), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), Before We Go (2014), Please Stand By (2017), Replicas (2018), and Bombshell (2019).


In addition to her work in film, Eve has also made significant contributions to television. She portrayed recurring characters in notable series such as HBO's Entourage in 2011, Marvel's Iron Fist in 2018, and Amazon Prime's The Power in 2023.

Alice Sophia Eve was born in London to actors Trevor Eve and Sharon Maughan. She has two younger brothers and comes from a diverse heritage of English, Irish, and Welsh descent.
Eve received her education at Bedales School and More House School before completing her A-levels at Westminster School in London. During her gap year, she pursued acting studies at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. Subsequently, she enrolled at St Catherine's College, Oxford, where she studied English.


While at Oxford, Eve actively participated in student theater productions, showcasing her talent in plays such as The Importance of Being Earnest, Animal Crackers (which toured to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe), and Scenes from an Execution. Her dedication to the craft of acting and her diverse theatrical experiences laid a solid foundation for her future career in the entertainment industry.


Alice Eve has had a diverse career in both television and film. She has appeared in various television dramas, including BBC's The Rotters' Club, Agatha Christie's Poirot, and Hawking. Additionally, she starred in the drama film Stage Beauty in 2004.
In 2006, Eve showcased her comedic talents in two films: Starter for 10 and Big Nothing, where she and co-star Simon Pegg adopted American accents. She also worked on the drama miniseries Losing Gemma about backpackers in India during the early part of the year.


On stage, Eve collaborated with director Trevor Nunn in two plays. In 2006, she portrayed young Esme/Alice in the Tom Stoppard play Rock 'n' Roll at the Royal Court Theatre, later reprising her role for its 2007 Broadway transfer. This performance earned her a nomination for the best supporting actress award at the Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers' Choice Awards. In 2009, she played Roxane in a production of Cyrano de Bergerac at the Chichester Festival Theatre.


Eve's notable film roles include the female lead in the American romantic comedy She's Out of My League (2010), where her parents played her character's parents, and the role of Erin, Charlotte's Irish nanny, in Sex and the City 2 (2010). She also had a recurring guest role in season 8 of HBO's Entourage in 2011 as Sophia, a journalist and love interest to Vincent Chase. That same year, she portrayed Hollywood actress Lara Tyler in the romantic comedy The Decoy Bride and starred as Dr. Carol Marcus in Star Trek Into Darkness (2013).
In 2012, Eve portrayed the younger version of Agent O in the sci-fi comedy Men in Black 3, with Emma Thompson playing the older version of the character. She has also appeared in music videos, such as Paul McCartney's "Queenie Eye" (2013) and Rixton's "Hotel Ceiling" (2015).


Eve co-starred in the romantic drama Before We Go (2013) with Chris Evans, who also directed the film. She played herself in Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014) and has since appeared in productions like the action thriller Criminal (2016).
Additionally, Eve appeared in an episode of the anthology series Black Mirror titled "Nosedive" in 2016. In December 2017, she joined Netflix's Iron Fist as Mary Walker.



Alice Eve has had notable personal relationships in addition to her professional accomplishments. She was in a long-term relationship with poet Adam O'Riordan, whom she met while studying English at Oxford. However, they broke up in 2012. Later, on August 14, 2014, Eve announced her engagement to her "high school sweetheart," financier Alex Cowper-Smith, whom she had met while attending Westminster School in London. They married on December 31, 2014, but unfortunately divorced in 2017.


Eve is also known for having heterochromia, a condition characterized by having irises of different colors. Her left eye is blue while her right eye is green.
In terms of residence, Eve splits her time between London and Los Angeles. She became a naturalized American citizen on November 16, 2017.
