Gaming Personalities
Here's a cool thing about gaming: "Did you know that the iconic video game character, Pac-Man, was originally called 'Puck-Man' in Japan? The name was changed to Pac-Man for international releases because Midway Games, the game's distributor, was concerned that vandals might alter the 'P' in 'Puck-Man' to an 'F' on arcade machines!" I hope that's a fun fact that brings a smile to your face!
Soft blankets, cozy bed Lure me in, a sleepy head
Hours tick by, lost in dreams
As morning light, my soul it seems But too much sleep, a heavy chain
Weighs me down, a lethargic pain
Mind foggy, body slow
A day missed, as I hit the snooze button low
So I'll rise, shake off the night
And greet the day, with all its light
For life awaits, beyond the bed And too much sleep, is a dreamer's dread.
"The legendary video game character, Mario, was originally known as 'Jumpman' in the 1981 arcade game Donkey Kong. He was named Mario later, after Mario Segale, the landlord of Nintendo's offices in the United States. Segale was an American of Italian descent, which inspired the character's Italian-American personality!"
Did you know that the popular video game "Minecraft" was created by Markus "Notch" Persson, a Swedish game developer, and was first released on May 17, 2009? Interestingly, Notch is a self-taught programmer who learned to code at the age of 7 and created his first game at 10! He developed Minecraft in just 5 months, and it went on to become a global phenomenon with over 200 million registered players across the globe!
