How to maintain a good work-life balance
I previously talked about the importance of having a good work-life and how it influences our work, productivity, and daily lives. How then can we maintain a good work-life balance? Here are a few ways we can maintain a good work-life balance:
Find a job you love: If we are not happy about the job that we do, it affects our work-life balance negatively as we would not have the motivation to be productive. Although working is a societal expectation, your employment shouldn't limit you. Simply put, you cannot be happy if you despise what you do. Your job doesn't have to be perfect, but it should be interesting enough that you don't dread getting out of bed in the morning.
Prioritize your health: The saying goes that "health is wealth", we have to be in a state of good health to even be able to carry out our jobs. Your primary priority should be your general physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Fit therapy appointments into your schedule even if it means skipping your evening spin class or leaving work early if you suffer from anxiety or despair. Prioritizing your health doesn’t have to consist of radical or extreme activities. It can be as simple as daily meditation or exercise.
Make time for yourself and loved ones: Achieving a good work-life balance requires deliberate action. Even while your job is vital, it shouldn't take up all of your time. You were a person before accepting this position, therefore give priority to the things that bring you joy.
May you find the balance of life, time for work but also time for play.
